A Little About Myself

I am a native of Mexico.  I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BA in Spanish and Latin American Studies.  I also obtained a Masters Degree in Hispanic Studies from the same university.  I am in the process of finishing a second Masters in Secondary Education.  I have traveled to different cities in southern Spain and Mexico.  I had the great opportunity to lead educational trips of middle school students to Yucatán, Mexico for several years.  These trips included visiting ancient Maya archaeological sites like Chichén Itzá and Uxmal.

This summer, I was fortunate to participate in a mission trip to Antigua, Guatemala for a second time.  I worked on a team that built houses for families in need.  This is my fourth year teaching at York Community High School and I am very excited to teach Spanish 3 Honors-ACP and Heritage 2 Honors.  I am looking forward to sharing my love and passion for the language with my students.
