Congratulations FCCLA Regional Competitors
Congratulations to York students who participated in the Family Career and Community Leaders of America regional competitions at College of Dupage on February 3rd and February 10th. FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education. Students developed presentations, demonstrated skills, and showcased knowledge in areas such as nutrition, fashion, food production and design, children's literature, interior design, and professional careers. Students received individual awards based on their overall score. Additionally the “Most Outstanding” (MO) distinction was awarded to the student who had the most exemplary project/performance out of all the competitors in their competition category.
The following students received first place in their competition category: Olivia Becker (MO), Jenna Gallichio (MO), Jamie Killian (MO), Caitlyn Rambo, Elena Vezmar (MO), Meghan Sly, Julianna Gecsey (MO), Allison Evans (MO), Christine Millins, Lauren Noonan, Sophie Ward, and Sarah Pinkowski.
The following students received second place in their competition category: Samantha Flesch, Clarissa Gecsey, Elizabeth Benvenuto, Emily Schlecht, Elena Coletta, Nina Fabrizius, Ally Geary, Aileen Horn, Aleksija Iglendza, Ella Pittman, Kylie Travers, Mei Giuffre, Jolene Gundrum, Madison Miller, Gabriella Purpora, Katie Strawbridge, Kaitlyn Templeman, Ally Bassing, Ellaby Rohde, Iqra Shaikh, and Ayanna Johnson.
The following students received third place in their competition category: Allison Stramel, Kevin Homan, Isabella Lopiano, Annaliese Bartuch, and Stephanie Monaco.
Special Programs Application Timeline and Information for 2017-2018 School Year
Please review the information below and submit all appropriate applications by the deadlines indicated. Students wishing to receive priority consideration for a parking spot due to enrollment in these programs should also submit the parking application by the date indicated below. Please note: If a student is NOT accepted into Career Internship, Invitation to Teach or Med Careers their parking application will go into the general lottery.
Junior Registration Meetings January 31 - February 3, 2017
Students should discuss their desire to enroll in one of the courses listed below with their counselor during their registration meeting.
This does not guarantee enrollment in the course. Students must also submit the appropriate application by the deadline. The applications give further information about candidate selection and when students will be notified if they have been accepted into the course.

Parking Application Due: 1/27/2017 to Mr. McGuire in room C123
Parking Application (for both programs)
Career Internship Application Due: 2/24/2017 (completed online)
Students applying for Career Internship should complete this ONLINE APPLICATION by 2/24/2017.
Invitation to Teach
Students applying for Invitation to teach need to complete THIS APPLICATION and submit a hard copy, along with the essay questions and a letter of recommendation to Miss Foss in the FCS Office (A122) by 1/27/2017.
