Course Description

#0780 Entrepreneurship

Grades 9-12  / 1 Semester – 1 Credit

In this course students will work in teams to develop a proposal to start a new business. Students will conduct a self-analysis (including the willingness to take risks), create an analysis of the business situation and produce a description of the way the business will operate. Students will apply entrepreneurial skills to a single sales/service activity that could be run as a real business venture. The sales/service activity may focus on any subject of interest to their team. Students who take Entrepreneurship will develop career decision-making skills, practice problem solving, integrate the study of personal finance topics as appropriate and become more aware of the role of entrepreneurs and free enterprise in the workplace of the 21st century. Through project based learning opportunities students will begin to develop artifacts for a professional student entrepreneurship portfolio.
